ProSight Solution Architecture
There are three layers to the solution architecture depicted in figure above: Platform Layer, Solution Layer, and the Access and Collaboration Layer.
Platform Layer: The ProSight platform manages hierarchical portfolios on top of SQL Server or Oracle databases. It provides the underlying infrastructure for ProSight's forms, scorecards, investor maps, workbooks and advanced analytics, and frees the business user from concerns about programming or database structure, because everything is configured with wizards. ProSight has a rich set of interfaces for connecting to outside systems, so you can leverage data as appropriate for managing your investments.
Solution Layer: ProSight makes it easy to build simple or elaborate configurations using wizards. Every analytic, metric or formula is easily configured without programming. Primavera provides several ProSight Fast Track solutions that come ready to be used out of the box, and can be tailored as appropriate. Customers or Primavera Professional Services staff can also build tailored configurations from the ground up to mirror current processes or support new ones.
Access and Collaboration Layer: For portfolio management to be effective, all of the appropriate stakeholders need to be involved in the process, including proposal, prioritization, rationalization, and approval processes, as well as ongoing governance. ProSight has an exceptional security infrastructure to provide as little or as much granularity as you need to ensure each individual has access to the appropriate information. ProSight's My Processes pane provides step-by-step guidance that mirrors your organization’s process or governance for portfolio management, enabling everyone from executives to individual contributors to use role-appropriate screens for activities ranging from data entry and lookup to scenario planning at the highest strategic level. And every aspect of ProSight is accessible via a web-based interface, providing world-wide access that is secure.
